Vaporizer parts are essential to maintaining your device and enjoying dry herb, wax, or liquid concentrates to the fullest. Even the most high quality units can break, in which case you’ll need a replacement part to start vaping again. A variety of replacement vape parts are available, including batteries, mouthpieces, screens, heating chambers, bubbler attachments, whips and wands, and more. While some of these parts are universal, others are only compatible with particular devices or brands. You can stock up on replacement parts for your vaporizer and enjoy continuous use if any essential components break or stop performing at the highest level.
TYPES OF VAPORIZER PARTS
When you purchase a device, it will generally come with a variety of parts. If any of these components are lost or broken, you can find them on our vaporizer parts page. Bear in mind that not all vape parts will be compatible with your specific device. If it’s not clear whether a part will fit your unit, contact us to find the best vaporizer part for your specific device. Don’t take a chance on a part that you’re not sure will work with your device.
STOCK UP ON VAPORIZER SPARE PARTS
Some parts last a long time, while others will need more frequent replacing. In that case, stocking up on vaporizer parts saves you a trip to the local vape shop, and the hassle of finding out they don’t even stock your part. It can also spare you the trouble of waiting for an online order to be delivered. Knowing which types of parts will need regular replacing is the best approach for stocking up. Stowing away a treasure trove of vape parts will keep you vaping continuously, and ensure your device is always operating at its full potential. The following are vaporizer parts that will need replacing more often:
Replacement screens for vaporizers are small but essential parts that will need replacing quite frequently. Vape filters are porous objects inserted into a mouthpiece or chamber to purify vapor. As hits flow through the tiny holes in a filter, particulates are caught, preventing them from being inhaled. The pores also sift vapor to cool each hit. You can regularly clean vaporizer filters to ensure optimal performance, but after awhile they will need replacement if too much gunk has accumulated. Vaporizer filter screens are cheap, making them easy to stock up on.
Heating Chambers and Atomizers
A key component to vapor quality is the heating chamber, often referred to as an atomizer. This is the chamber into which wax, herb, or liquid is placed. A heating element such as a rod or cup will heat up to vaporize material, although convection units use hot air that is spewed into the chamber. The type of material out of which an atomizer and its heating element are made effects cloud size, flavor, smoothness, density and more, so it’s important to read up on all the different atomizers .
Mouthpieces sometimes clog up with gunk that is too crystallized to be broken down with a cleaning solution. This most often occurs with wax pens since the material melts and sometimes leaks into the mouthpiece, drying over time and causing build up that clogs airflow. Once your vaporizer mouthpiece has reached the point of no return, it’s time for a replacement. Remember that most mouthpieces are proprietary, so you’ll need to find the exact one that’s compatible with your device.
ARE VAPORIZER PARTS INTERCHANGEABLE?
Certain vaporizer parts, such as universal 510-threaded components, are to a large extent interchangeable. Others are proprietary, meaning they’re only compatible with a specific model of vaporizer or brand. Compatibility will vary from part to part.
Vape parts that feature 510-threading are generally compatible with most 510-threaded devices, and most devices are 510-threaded. But just because a part features this “universal” threading doesn’t necessarily mean it will fit your 510 device. Some of these parts are proprietary, making them only compatible with specific vaporizers.
The number 510 comes from the measurements of the threading, which consists of 10 threads at 0.5mm per thread. Despite some popular misconceptions, the total diameter for 510-threaded connections is 7mm.
Vaporizer parts that commonly feature 510-threading are batteries, atomizers, herb chambers, and mouthpieces.
Most wax pens feature interchangeable atomizers, though oftentimes these atomizers are part of a proprietary series designed by the manufacturer of the vaporizer.
Companies which feature an ecosystem of atomizers include ThisThingRips, KandyPens, and SOURCEvapes. The latter allows considerable cross-compatibility between their vaporizers and a wide array of atomizers. The SOURCE Nail XL Sig 2, for example, is compatible with over 30+SOURCE atomizers .
Interchangeable atomizers allow you to explore different vapor profiles, flavors, and more. This type of vaporizer part comes in many forms including single rod, double rod, and triple, as well as different materials from ceramic to quartz and even titanium.
HOW TO CLEAN VAPORIZER PARTS
Vaporizer parts should be cleaned using isopropyl alcohol. Remove the component, dab a q-tip in isopropyl and wipe the vape part down, removing any residue from its surfaces and crevices. For deep cleaning, soak the part in alcohol for 10 to 30 minutes before wiping it down.
The build-up of residue in the airway of a mouthpiece can prevent adequate airflow and lead to weak hits. This issue is especially prevalent in wax pens. But with regular cleaning, you can maintain the best output from your vaporizer mouthpiece. To clean this part, simply detach it from the device, dip a q-tip in isopropyl alcohol, and wipe the inside of the component. If residue is too hard to be broken down with a cotton tip, a cleaning brush will come in handy. You can also soak the mouthpiece to saturate the residue before wiping it away.
Atomizers are trickier to clean, especially when they have heating rods under which melted wax can collect just out of reach of your cleaning tool. Again, using a q-tip soaked in isopropyl after each session will help prevent the build-up of melted wax and keep the atomizer performing better for a longer time. Remember to be very gentle with the coils wrapped around the heating rod in an atomizer. They are fragile and once they’re broken your atomizer may be rendered useless. Coilless atomizers feature no heating rod and are generally much easier to clean.
Cleaning Herb Chambers
An herb chamber is an essential vaporizer part found in devices meant for dry herb. Cleaning the herb chamber will ensure better vapor production and, in devices that feature fixed chambers that can’t be replaced, it can prevent your vape from becoming unusable. To keep your herb chamber clean and running smoothly, simply brush it out lightly after each session. These short cleaning sessions will prevent build up that will require deeper cleaning. The more often you clean this vape part, the less work you’ll have to do in the long run.
HOW TO FIND THE RIGHT REPLACEMENT VAPORIZER PARTS
With a plethora of different vape parts available, it’s important to determine which component is compatible with your device. It’s also beneficial to know what the part actually offers to make sure it provides the enhancements you seek. This will ensure your vaping experience is as great as it can be. Here are our recommended approaches to finding the right vaporizer part.
Choose the Right Threading
The most common threading is 510, which is often referred to as “universal.” In reality, 510-threading is found in the majority of parts and devices, but not all of them. Atmos products, for example, feature their own unique threading, requiring an adapter in order to work with 510-threaded devices and parts. That’s why it’s essential to make sure the threading of a replacement vape part will fit the device with which you plan on using it.
Ask What Materials Are Used
The materials out of which vaporizer parts are made play a role in performance on a number of levels. In heating chambers, the walls of the chamber and heating rod effect the flavor, density, smoothness, and size of vapor clouds. Metals used dictate the durability as well as weight of a vape part. Aluminum for example is a tough but lightweight metal that makes for a more portable device. And the glass used in bubbler attachments and glass mouthpieces influences the coolness and flavor level of vapor. Knowing which materials are used in your vaporizer parts, and understanding what they offer will give you better insight into which components will meet your needs.
Choose the Same Brand
One of the best ways to ensure a vape part is compatible with your device is sticking with the same brand. Many components are only compatible with products made by the same manufacturer. It’s a safer bet to choose vape parts made specifically for your vaporizer than venturing outside of that brand’s ecosystem to try your luck with an outsider part. There are certainly components from different brands that will work with your device. But if you’re not absolutely sure it will fit, it’s best to stay within your device’s brand.
